Wow, what a fantastic experience my wife and I have just had cruising the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal on "WREN" - Wren is a 5* Luxury Canal Boat, with an open plan design with a huge bed, double glass shower and great seating area and kitchen with granite worktops along with an electric flush toilet. The boat had an entertainment centre, with Smart TV, so you could watch Netflix, Prime etc. a DVD player for films (we took our own / a borrowing library was available at the yard) and CD to listen to your favourite music. To keep you warm, a choice of central heating or a wood burning stove ! The journey to Beacon Park Boats Boatyard (extremely impressive in itself) was a very simple journey from the M4 Motorway. On arrival we were greeted by the team, who assisted with our luggage and taken to our booked vessel. We were given time to unpack and then offered a welcome drink ! A few other additional treats, were provided on-board ! - Once ready (no rush) we were then given a tour of the boat and it's controls (don't worry if you don't take it all in, there is a binder with accompanying DVD with all the info you need.) When we were ready to leave, we had a member of the team journey with us / provide "driver" training until we were fully confident to go alone. We headed towards the south of the canal which has no locks, as this was our first narrow boat holiday. We used the map / guide provided which detailed, shops, pubs, places of interest and mooring points with great views ! We went for some lovely walks into towns and villages and even a walk up a mountain. We spent 7 days on the boat, one of our most favourite holidays of all time and hands down beats our last boating holiday on the broads. Returning the boat was even easier. We chose to return the evening before our drop off day and spend our last night in the yard. Talking of the yard, there is also a lovely cafe, where we enjoyed some tea, coffee and cake, simply delicious. As already said, a fantastic holiday, very fairly priced, with a great team supporting you ! Thank you, we will return !
