Luxury holidays
Luxury holidays in a stunning location
Our stunning 36-mile long waterway is regarded as the UK’s most picturesque canal. Unusually, it rises high above the valley floor offering amazing views of the countryside. Separate from the rest of the UK canal network, it remains a tranquil and uncrowded waterway, passing through charming villages.
Enjoyed by all
Our narrowboat holidays are perfect for all the family, with plenty for the kids to do both on and off the water. This includes mooring, casting off and going through the locks, A brilliant way to get your children appreciating the beauty of nature and all it has to offer.
Not forgetting our four-legged friends
Pets stay for free on our narrowboats (excluding Robin) and houseboats. The towpath is a perfect spot for a walk and we'll even provide a dog towel for any muddy paws or to dry off after any unexpected swimming lessons!
Our team
Beacon Park Boats is a family business offering 5-star luxury narrowboat holidays on the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal in an exceptionally beautiful part of Wales—the Brecon Beacons National Park.
Our family has owned the business since 2001, managing every aspect of it, and our small team of valued staff work tirelessly to maintain Beacon Park Boats' position as one of the UK’s premier narrowboat holiday companies.
We work hard, but we also play hard, indulging our passion for being on the water whenever we can. This includes travelling along the entire canal every year, from Cwmbran to Brecon, while also reviewing the waterway and reporting any concerns to the Canal & River Trust.
Our wharf
Our wharf at Llangattock opened to visitors in 2016. We designed it to provide space for building and maintaining our boats, as well as to offer a warm welcome and excellent facilities for our customers. We moved here from a much smaller wharf at Llanfoist, which is where you'll find our three luxury, detached holiday cottages.
The new wharf is in a gorgeous position, tucked under the Llangattock mountain escarpment with views towards the delightful market town of Crickhowell. Situated at roughly the mid-point of the canal, the wharf is just 15 miles from the northern end, making Brecon an achievable destination for customers on a short break.
There are spacious moorings for our growing number of narrowboats and customers can see our team hard at work, designing and building the newest boats to add to our fleet.
Built by us
You won't have seen narrowboats quite like ours as they are all bespoke. We are extremely proud that we design and build each of them, adding a new one (or two) to the fleet annually.
The process always starts from conversations with customers, finding out what their ideal boat would be like. We then try to deliver with the premise that it must be the sort of high-quality boat on which we ourselves would want to holiday. It takes about 12 months from initial design sketches to launching the boat onto the canal.
