Our boats are all individuals. We design and make them so you won’t find them anywhere else. Each year, when we add a new boat to the fleet, we try to incorporate some of the ideas that customers have given us. In addition, before Alasdair puts pencil to paper to draw up his rough design, we evaluate influences we’ve picked up from sources as varied as hotel rooms, design magazines and The Boat Show.
Everyone has their own opinion, and we like to hear what our customers think. Some visitors fall in love with a boat and book it every time they holiday with us. Others prefer to try a different one each time. There are a few who particularly like to holiday on our latest creation. Well, this year we’ve been working extra hard throughout the winter to build not one, but two new boats. Merlin is a traditional narrowboat for up to six people, with a canopied front deck that has the feel of a conservatory once the side panels are closed. Grouse is a wide boat with an amazing kitchen, formal dining table and smart lounge for after-dinner drinks. It appeals to couples who enjoy cooking and eating the excellent local produce from the many markets and independent shops. We can even recommend local chefs to come onboard and cook for you.
To help you choose which of our fifteen boats will suit your holiday, we’ve put detailed new plans of the interiors on our website. If you’d prefer to see the information in print, please request our latest brochure and we'll pop one in the post to you.
