We are flat out preparing our fleet of luxury canal boats now that we know Wales will be open for local visitors in time for Easter. All our luxury canal boats are entirely self-contained, so they will make the perfect post-lockdown holiday accommodation when guests are allowed to take them out.
Beacon Park Boats' owner, Alasdair Kirkpatrick, says it has been a very frustrating time waiting for an announcement made today by Wales' First Minister, Mark Drakeford: "Now we have a date it’s all hands to the pump to get ready in time.”
“We are really looking forward to seeing our first customers again after the winter lockdown and seeing them enjoying the canal again just in time hoping to catch the bankside daffodils,"
"We have 18 boats here which need to be maintained, and we still have Falcon (the canal's first 8-berth boat) in build, so it's been a juggling act to know which jobs to get done first, but we will be ready." Alasdair said.
The First Minister
today said the lockdown in Wales would be lifted so that self-contained accommodation could reopen for bookings from Wales from March
29th, allowing us to hire to local guests and reopen day boat bookings.
We hope other customers will be able to come from April 12th, when the England lockdown is expected to be eased.
