Making progress on Wren

2017 sees the addition of two new boats to our fleet. Kingfisher was launched recently and is now cruising the canal so we’re working flat out on Wren. She’s an innovative open-plan design, featuring creative use of curves and sleek finishes.

Here’s the rear of the boat at the moment, before we start painting the glossy green and cream topcoats.

Inside Wren, there’s a great deal happening, as our amazingly skilled carpenters, Jeff and Dan (our newest recruit), build the floor, walls, ceiling and furniture. Last week, we decided to re-design a section of the floor in the centre of the galley, in keeping with the curved theme. After a chat with Jeff, he disappeared off into the workshop and produced this beautiful circle, made up of 32 pieces of walnut. What a talented guy!

The design of this new narrowboat has certainly attracted attention from customers. There is just one week left to sell for the 2017 season, and we’re already taking bookings for 2018. Is she your ideal boat? Take a closer look at Wren.
