New boat delivered, another on the way.

So much has happened over this last month at Beacon Park Boats. We’ve had a heatwave, fantastic holidays, and significant progress on our two boat builds.

As you might have seen from our social media, Robin has arrived here in Llangattock after her journey over from Holland, and we’re excited to be making a start on fitting her out, ready for her maiden voyage. Robin will be the canal's first fully electric, yacht-style boat, and she’s already attracting lots of interest, with bookings for this October and next year. Now we need to fit her out, and work has already started on filling her with the unique features we’re known for. Thankfully we have our experienced boatbuilding team on hand to make it happen. If you remember the launch of Falcon, then you’ll know we’re used to working to tight schedules.

With her canopied helming area, choice of double bed or twin singles and indoor and outdoor dining options, we can’t wait to see her cruising the Mon & Brec!

Our other project, the wheelchair-accessible Swan, has kept us on our toes this month. We’ve created a CGI rendering of the boat, inside and out, so we can nail down the critical aspects of building a boat that can be enjoyed by those who may otherwise not have access to narrowboating. The hull is being constructed as we speak. We’ll keep you updated on progress, but it’s safe to say this is a project close to our hearts, and we can’t wait to see the boat arrive here at the boathouse. We’re hoping that both of these projects will have a positive impact on the narrowboat industry by bringing a focus on both sustainability and inclusivity. 

In other news, August sees fantastic local events with open gardens, the Green Man and Brecon Jazz Festivals, and much more. It’s a lively time for the area, and we hope to see some of you out and about, enjoying your summer and making the most of the excellent weather while avoiding airport queues and travel delays.
