Feeling at home in Llangattock

It’s three months since our first boat was hired from the new boathouse, and we’re feeling very much at home in Llangattock.

Moving is never easy, and it certainly was a challenge moving the entire business, while building two new boats for this season, and doing the planned winter maintenance on the other boats in the fleet.

But it was certainly worth it. The sheer amount of space we have at Llangattock makes us wonder how we ever fitted everything into our previous boathouse at Llanfoist. Everything has its place here. Alasdair has neatly organised all the boats parts, Jeff has a super space for his carpentry, the new office is working well and there's plenty of room for building boats

Being part of this lovely village of Llangattock is another bonus. We get so many cheery waves from locals passing on the towpath.

Returning customers are very complimentary about the new location and many comment on how enjoyable their holiday was - right from the moment they arrived at the boathouse. With car parking just a few yards away and easy access for the luggage trolleys, visitors are settled on their boats in no time. Though we have seen several relaxing with a coffee on the patio furniture, before cruising away.

We never fail to appreciate the beautiful setting of our new boathouse. Whether in frost, rain or sun, it’s a beautiful place to work. The commute along the towpath sets us up nicely for a day in the office.

If you want a reminder of exactly how this boathouse came into being, please take a look at this picture gallery which charts our progress from August 2014.
