Are you wondering what to do this Christmas? Make a break with tradition and spend it aboard a luxury 5-star narrowboat surrounded by the stunning winter scenery of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
We have ten boats to choose from, each is unique with its own character, although all have central heating, hot water, and fully-equipped kitchens to cook your Christmas dinner. We have boats which can sleep groups from two to eight people; book more than one boat and you can bring your whole Christmas party to Wales!
Christmas or New Year? There are two dates for you to choose from: The Christmas break runs from 20th December until 27th December, and the New Year break runs from 27th December until 3rd January.
It’s the first time in 20 years that we have been able to open for the Festive Season. All boats will be decorated and there will be a bottle of fizz chilling to get the celebrations underway. All you need to bring is food. There are two butchers in Crickhowell, selling local produce, and the supermarkets will also deliver to the boathouse.
The canal is quietest at Christmas, the waters crystal clear and
the skies perfect for stargazing. On a clear night in the Brecon Beacons
International Dark Skies Reserve, you can see the Milky Way, some of the major
constellations, bright nebulas, and even a meteor shower or two. And a luxury
Beacon Park Canal Boat makes the ideal viewing platform.
You can cruise the canal and wake up to a different view every
morning. We can tell you the best places to moor up and, if you fancy a
real ale, gin and tonic or meal out, we can recommend the best places to eat
and drink, too. If you don’t want to cook onboard your boat, why
not try one of the following canal side pubs, Coach and Horses, Horse and
Jockey, Goytre Arms, Tafarn y Bont, Tow Path Inn, Corn Exchange, The
Star, Royal Oak, Vine tree, The Three Horseshoes, Horseshoe Inn? Tables
will be subject to availability and we would strongly suggest pre-booking.
