Another successful launch!

- Fair to say Alasdair is pleased!
Every launch is an anxious moment. The first contact with water will ruthlessly expose any weaknesses. But thankfully, putting Robin on the water was a breeze. With all hands on deck and a giant tractor to pull, it wasn't long before she was out in the sun, getting her first proper peek at the Brecon Beacon
With her beautiful green and yellow paint on full display, she was lowered slowly down the slipway into the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, where she'll soon be joining the rest of the fleet here at Beacon Park Boats, taking holidaymakers on epic holidays through the beautiful Brecon Beacons. Everyone was pleased to see how great she looked on the water; she is a really unique and stylish design. Some of our departing guests on another boat applauded as she was pulled onto the canal. You can watch a video of her laugh and here what Alasdair had to say by clicking on the image below.

We then gave her new propulsion system a quick test and set about getting her ready for her first cruise. She'll be pulled out of the water again for a few more days work getting her ready for the first lucky customer.
Aside from her unique aesthetic, Robin is special to us because her long-range batteries will mean there'll be no need to recharge during your holiday. You'll enjoy total freedom to cruise silently through the Brecon Beacons, without the worry of wondering whether you will run out of charge. On top of that your water will be heated using the natural energy from the water in the canal, further lowering the carbon footprint and providing hot, sustainable showers at the same time.
Robin is wheel-steered in the sitting position, with 'his and hers' armchairs to match, has a choice of double or two single beds, is light and easy to handle as well as fitting in with the rest of our fleet with bow-thrusters for easy manoeuvring.

A big thank you to everyone involved - from the team here at Beacon Park Boats, the boat builders over in Holland and everyone who's shown an interest in Robin since her inception. It won't be long until she's out on a Mon & Brec adventure of her own in a few weeks!
We've already taken lots of bookings on what could be the most elegant boat on the canal, so if you're excited to take Robin out on the Mon & Brec next season be sure to book sooner rather than later!
We can now focus our efforts on our other project, the wheelchair-accessible Swan; we'll have some updates on that shortly!
