An engagement on the Mon & Brec

Romance is blossoming on the Mon & Brec canal. Plenty of couples enjoy the chance to escape and spend time together. Narrowboats Owl and Harrier are particularly popular for honeymoons. For some, what starts as a relaxed escape, ends as a particularly memorable holiday.

Like Martin & Di, who recently got engaged on Harrier at bridge 79 of the Monmouthshire & Brecon canal. They shared the wonderful news with us when they returned to the wharf. They have been together for seven years but on this holiday Martin realised it was the perfect time to pop the question. And Di said ‘yes’. The big date is set for May 2018 when Martin’s son and his family will be over from New Zealand for the celebrations.

It was Martin and Di’s first visit to the Mon & Brec canal and it may not be their last, given that it now holds such special memories for them. Congratulations!
